The Building of the Salt Office in Vylok
For many centuries, until the construction of the railway lines, waterways were of great importance in this area. On the Tysa, Tisza winding in the vicinity, wood, salt, fresh and dried fruit were transported to the Great Plain. In order to control the trade, in 1417 a building for the salt office was built in the settlement, which has been restructured several times.
Vylok, Újlak is an important venue for the unfolding of the Rákóczi War of Independence. Every year since 1989, the grand celebration held in memory of the First Winning Battle of the War of Independence led by the great prince, traditionally begins here.
